I have linked to a Men’s Health article that discusses regrettable tattoos. Tattoo regret is not something new, I personally did not regret my first tattoo but my second. At the time I got my first tattoo, I was a freshman in college. I was immediately made fun of for reasons that I didn’t think of which exasperated my regret: So I did what I could to deal with the regret: a huge, dark and ugly cover up. The problem with the cover up is compromises, it was never “art” it was always utility to cover up my regret. It wasn’t pretty, it was intricate, it was original, it was big and dark. This brings me to present day, as laser tattoo removal is more accessible, more comfortable, more effective and more affordable tattoo and tattoo regret are becoming endangered. Had laser tattoo removal been so affordable 15 years ago, I wouldn’t have had an ugly cover up but rather a removal and a replacement with actual enjoyable art. https://www.menshealth.com/guy-wisdom/tattoos-regrets-men |
